Entry 7: The End(?)

Here's the girl behind the mask!
Now back to the topic of "blogging"~

I've always enjoyed blogging, though I've never really had to do a whole lot of writing (myself at least) when it came to it. I've always seen myself as someone who just wrote/said anything that came to mind. Or would just show a picture that would best describe what I'm trying to say.
So I'm sorry if there were things that hadn't made sense m(_._)m
I dunno if it was fairly obvious that I'm a visual nerd (with all the edits and graphics) than a writer, but it has helped me understand that a lot of aspects do go into writing wherever the writing may be taken, as well as looking at certain things differently (clip from WALL-E and watching/analyzing Food Inc.).
If you don't believe me, check my personal Tumblr page: medhwaaa.tumblr.com

Having something as semi-personal like a blog being considered an assignment, was fun and definitely help incorporate any writing lessons or topics about in class, and seeing what the others had on the subjects. Only think about it was trying to figure out what to write on the posts I had to make up the topic myself. More so figure out how to write it! Some thoughts came to mind that maybe having a little nudge of what we could possibly write instead of being thrown into a pond, and learning to swim. Then again, I can understand, it's best to learn by doing with what you already know and building on from that.

Although it does help, being a creative writer (sort of), to try and come up with something. Which also helped with gaining sudden inspirations for things to write about for my characters.
Because of that and seeing the enjoyment in writing, I give a huge thank you to Professor Chris! I I can't wait to take your 102 class and see what else is in store in being an author.

Entry 6: How To: Graphic Images (GIF)

*All graphics done by me. Video content by CapnDesDes (youtuber)*

Some maybe wondering how I create the graphics, so I've done a little "How To" post, along with some hints and tricks behind the process. Enjoy!
 °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
  • I use multiple things actually (since I'm poor for photoshop), but I get my screens (screenshots/frames) from KM Player.
  • Then I use photoscape to put the frames together. Deleting, scaling (resize) and GIF speed can also be done through that program.
  • Afterwards, if I have to, I upload it to free-online-image-editor or EZgif to do the cropping without it becoming grainy at the end.
There’s also GIMP where you can open up the frames as layers, scale, crop, and change the speed of the GIF. The only thing I don’t really use GIMP much anymore is that I’d have to change the image mode from RGB (Red, Green, Blue) to index which has it come out a bit grainy.

Here’s a one created using the different programs:
Photoscape:
GIMP:

In my opinion of having used both programs frequently, I personally like using Photoscape despite having to use IOE for the cropping (I didn’t need to use it this time for the minimal amount of frames being used, which is the same for both) because you can have a larger GIF created and you can see the quality on his face is much more clear (less grainy) than it is on GIMP. Plus, it’s more time consuming using GIMP, in my opinion. Also with GIMP, it comes out as a larger size when saved, and depending on where it would be uploaded, there's size limits; the image would have to be condensed compared to the one created for Photoscape.

Sorry if it’s a lot of information for something so simple, but I figured I'd answer some questions to whoever wondered about it. I hope it was useful~ if you need any more hints or tips, just comment below or youtube!

Entry 5: Is Food Even Real?

We're a society that loves food. There's many of use that haven't really taken the moment to think of where it could be coming from.
I like to feed my curiosity when I see something that catches my eye; Food Inc. was one of these that scratched the itch.

As I watched the documentary, nothing that was presented to me was shocking. It had all just made more sense.
The food industry has grown in massive numbers with supermarkets like Walmart, dropping prices for those of lesser fortune are able to eat healthy.

But what really is healthy?
As Joel Salatin states, "I think it's one of the most important battles for consumers to fight: the right to know what's in their food, and how it was grown."

It was clear that the animals being cared for in mass numbers aren't healthy. They're being fed corn which is obviously not apart of their natural diet, causing them to fatten up quicker and be put into misery in order for us to get what we want. More meat.
So how is eating animals that are being put in such torture be healthy for us in the end? It doesn't.

It's understandable that not many can afford the organic or naturally raised products, but does it have to interfere with our bodies? Even plants are being poisoned in order for us to receive delicious-looking produce.
I don't see it being worth it. Our impatience for food has escalated, or as many call it, "convenience". We want instant meals, hot-n-ready, nothing that will make a person wait on what they want to eat. So this concept of engineered food should end, or at least not be so high in demand.

Since the movies release though, we have made a large difference due to how we consume food. Sadly, a lot of it is still being genetically made for the fact there are many to feed. But many, like my family, have made some changes in what we are able to either make or grow ourselves to save money as well as have it be more healthy for us overall.
An example is, my mother figured that since milk generally came out cheaper than buying a tub of cottage cheese, she could just buy an extra gallon of milk and have it sit passed its expiration for the fat inside could separate. With that, it ultimately gave more than just cheese; it gave sour milk as well which can be added in dishes for some flavor. From finding out she was able to get more for her buck, she hadn't gone to buying cottage cheese for about 3 years now.

There are ways of working around what we consider convenience;
It only takes a little bit to make a big difference.

Entry 4: YouTube = Self Reflection

As weird as this may look, this has become me. I am that meme. I know, there's a number of us out there that just can't seem to let their computer screens go.
For me, that thing on the screen that I can't not have is YouTube.
That website has taken my soul.
From initially going on to search for a tutorial of some kind (editing or some viral video a friend has sent me), by the end of the day I have found myself watching my favourite channels; Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Madeyewlook, and many more that I've grown to love...
Jacksepticeye
Markiplier
Madeyewlook
Now I understand, it's a very strange combination of channels; two gamers and a make-up artist. These are just the very few that have been able to suck up all the attention I have for anything and simply watch, or just have play in the background.
It may seem like it's a bad thing that I've almost lived on YouTube for the last couple years, but it's given me a chance to learn some things actually.

These people have the guts to place themselves, as goofy and dorky as they are, in front of a camera, give all their time and effort in creating these videos, and inspire so many people with just 10 or so minutes of videos that both teens and even some adults may enjoy.
It's truly fascinating that there's millions of people such as myself that look up to these channels or others similar to these ones.

It makes you think
...
Even though I'm not "internet famous", is there a way for a peasant person like myself to make a change in the world?
Think about it.

Entry 3: A Glimpse of the Future?

holy crap ⊙▂⊙ we really are slowly becoming this...
↓ Example ↓

Now, I know this is a little tangent from the usual stuff, but I need to give my thoughts here a minute about this
So here we go~

What had struck me most during the clip was when Wall-E was simply trying to get the woman’s attention to excuse herself so he can pass by towards Eva, he had to basically pry the speakers of the chair away which turned off the screen (that was basically holding on to her attention) and finally breaking free of that and noticing what was really in front of her. It really gave me a moment to think of what’s happening with us as a species.
Perfect example being that adolescents, maybe even some of us “older generation”, have had times where we glued ourselves to a screen of some kind; phones, monitors, tablets, or maybe even a multitude of these things all at once. Then when we finally lift our heads up from a long day of nothing but LED lighting illuminating our faces and taking a moment of reality. What was really in front of you.
It’s almost scary to realize that even though technology has come so far in order to help us with making our daily lives easier, but on the other side it’s also bringing us to someplace where we NEED these things in order to live. As if we really HAVE TO have these energy sucking monsters to be around us 24/7.
Then again, if I didn't have a computer, I wouldn’t have been able to learn how to edit which has come to be a passion.
Ultimately, and I think coming from many personal experiences of my family telling me to get off the computer and do something else with my time, is that there needs to be a moderation. Yes, sometimes there’s moments where you NEED to be doing whatever it may be on an electronic device, but it’s to give yourself rest between the work you’re doing. Get up, move around, and stretch dem legs! Or take a nap so your eyes can rest too, that can also work

Entry 2: Two Sides...

FT Island's Lee Hongki (Vo.)
Easy to notice that the graphic is very similar to the header, but this time it's on another topic in mind.
Seeing that the idol presented is split in two. Interesting right?
Well, it's fairly easy.
People have the ability to show themselves differently. Good and/or bad, regardless of who they're with, though usually it's the bad that seems to slip.

Most of the time it can be frustrating to witness one side of a person that can switch on a flip of a dime and somehow become a completely different person. You stand there in shock, really... Especially if it's someone that you've only had so long of meeting and getting everything about who they are in that short amount of time.
Like... (・_・ヾwhat...?
"I thought they were nice... But I guess not..."
It certainly can become a large problem when the person places on a mask in front of you when you know something is clearly wrong but aren't willing to speak up. More so when caught in the act of whatever it may be.
Another problem it could lead is those who tend to be "two-faced" because it's that feeling of 'I want to stay friends since I know you're a better person, but I don't enjoy how you portray yourself to me or the others around me sometimes.'
Though over time it gets to the point where enough is enough and all one must do is disconnect contact. Giving yourself the respect one deserves from people rather than bullshit.

Entry 1: That was Easy

Left to right: Kyo (Dir En Grey), Bom (2ne1), JUN (GOTCHAROCKA)
I see myself as three people, serious, beautiful, and a goof. All represented well, personally, through this image.
。^‿^。
Already a blogger from another site, Tumblr, I see it as a great way of expressing oneself in any form. Obviously for me, it's through my edits. Things I had the freedom of creating from the things I like, and the people that represent those.
On one end, it can be serious. Professionally set-up. It has everything that the creator enjoys, but it's more for information. Gathering together and presenting them to one source. Which is how I see this blog page, Jpopasia. Organized in finding what you need, and informative within each article.
Now the beauty side, it's a little complicated. I see it more as someone being who they are in their creative side. Make up being something you're probably thinking, which is true. Yet, drawing can also portray beauty. One of my favourites being: Drawn In Black. Now it may not be what many blogs look like since it's just a bunch of pictures, but it's informative. Giving those that want to express their creative side through one of the many ways, drawing being one.
Lastly, and probably my favourite, it's just being a goof. Or however you see yourself. Me it's simply being someone that is out of the ordinary, loud and one occasion obnoxious. Who isn't though at some point of their life? Among many examples that I could use for this, it's a personal blog, Kuruto's form Arleuqin. Even though he is in a band, the blog does more than just show when they're holding performances. It shows the fans that follow him what he does outside of the stage life. Which is, himself.
All shown in a simple photo of three different types of people that I see myself as, it's clear that there's also going to many different ways a blog can be presented. From professional and sophisticated, to just being who you are and showing it off to the world.
